National Sport Launch 2012

Make plans NOW to attend the National Sport Launch (NSL) in 2012.  MARS (#136) is proud to once again host this National Association of Rocketry event.  MARS looks forward to welcoming you to Geneseo, NY and the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group (HAG) airfield.  The HAG airport is located in the middle of a nearly 1000 acre ancient floodplain formed by the Genesee River.  Our launch site is located in a large mowed grass field.  Surrounding recovery areas are flat farm land that, in May, will have no crops or just recently planted crops. 

The town of Geneseo, NY is host to the SUNY Geneseo college and numerous local businesses, dining, and shopping.  The city of Rochester is about 30 minutes away up interstate I-390.  Located at the western edge of the Finger Lakes region Geneseo is close to wineries, museums, cultural destinations, Letchworth State Park and many historical sites.  Bring the family and plan to travel the area before or after the launch!

MARS has hosted NSL and NARAM in the past and is host of an annual regional launch; NYPOWER.  Over the past sixteen years, NYPOWER has developed into a friendly relaxed launch where micro-max's and M motored monsters share the field.  MARS is excited to host the NSL and show off our organization and flying field.  Our range operations will have you on the pad as quickly and efficiently as possible.  This is the event to attend if you want to fly fly fly!
